Imke Onnen Loves the Cottbus Audience

An athlete who is particularly excited about the continuation of the International Jump-Meeting in Cottbus is high jumper Imke Onnen from Hannover. For her, it has always been "one of my favorite meetings." In January 2024, she had an excellent start to the season, clearing 1.94m and achieving several standards.

Right after the competition, she knew exactly who to thank: "The way the audience here supports the athletes is so special and incredibly motivating. I’ve never experienced such noise at any other meeting."

The foundation for a great season had been laid, especially after the injury-plagued 2023 season. In June, she placed eighth at the European Championships in Rome, and shortly after, she became the German champion. In August, she fulfilled her dream of competing in her second Olympic Games, but unfortunately missed the final. On her Instagram account, she wrote afterward: "I feel like I’m not finished yet, and I will show that in the future." On January 29th, the Cottbus audience will surely give their all for another successful result.
