There are athletes who are deeply connected to the Jump-Meeting in a special way, even beyond their active careers. One of them is the Englishwoman Isobel Pooley. She last competed in Cottbus in 2016, and now she is available to us as an expert at the microphone.
From the very first moment, the now 32-year-old felt at home in Cottbus: "The organizing team takes great care of the athletes, and you can immediately feel during the competition that the audience is eager to cheer everyone on and get excited. Jumping in the Lausitz-Arena is just so much fun!"
In the meantime, the two-time British champion works as a teacher in Frankfurt am Main, speaks fluent German, and still gets excited about "the unique combination of men’s pole vaulting and women’s high jumping" in Cottbus. She also enjoys standing on the side of the audience now. "You’re so close to the athletes and can see how focused they are on the competition and how much they enjoy great performances. By cheering them on, you can create unforgettable moments together with them. I can only express my gratitude for the warm welcome I receive every year and for being able to become part of the Cottbus family."
