A world record holder and Olympic champion, an Olympic silver medalist and two-time world champion, and no fewer than three two-meter jumpers: the athletes of the 22nd Jump-Meeting have already achieved remarkable success in their sporting careers and bring excellent credentials for top performances.

World-class athletes feel at home in Cottbus and appreciate the familiar, welcoming atmosphere of the Jump-Meeting. Those who take part once usually return. As a result, there are only two athletes in this year’s field who have never competed in Cottbus before: the current European Indoor Champion and Dutch record holder Menno Vloon, and the Greek Balkan Indoor Champion Ioannis Rizos.

The organizers are particularly pleased about the confirmation of the current world record holder and Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh. After a one-year break, the Ukrainian will compete in her fifth Jump-Meeting. Together with last year’s winner Christina Honsel and her Ukrainian compatriot Yulia Levchenko, Mahuchikh forms a trio of two-meter jumpers set to compete in Cottbus.

Two-time German champion Imke Onnen also remains loyal to the Jump-Meeting and is preparing for her seventh appearance—despite having struggled somewhat with the new surface at the previous event.

Polish veteran and six-meter vaulter Piotr Lisek is almost part of the furniture and will be competing for the ninth time. Likewise, a Jump-Meeting is now hardly imaginable without American vaulter Sam Kendricks—the Paris Olympic silver medalist and two-time world champion—who will be making his seventh appearance in Cottbus.

They will be challenged by six-meter vaulter Ernest Obiena of the Philippines, Germany’s 2022 European Championship silver medalist Bo Kanda Lita Baehre, and fellow American Matt Ludwig. Gillian Ladwig of Schweriner SC should also have fond memories of Cottbus: at his most recent appearance, he equaled his personal best of 5.72 m.

The athlete selection process has not yet been completed. All participating athletes will be published online in good time ahead of the 22nd Jump-Meeting.
